People in general think that they gain weight because they eat too much and do not exercise enough.

While this does play a role in weight gain, this does not explain the millions of people that go on diets and exercise, only to find that they still do not lose weight or worse, they even gain more weight.

You may know first hand what I am talking about here.

I see this all the time with clients in our practice. They are addressing all they know to lose weight, yet they either do not achieve their goal or they achieve this only to gain the weight back, or more, at a later date.

The main reason for this is due to the fact that most people are not addressing one of the single biggest factors in weight gain, which is inflammation.

You may already have an understanding that inflammation is at the core of almost any chronic illness, but not likely understanding the inflammation/weight gain cycle.

Here is a simple breakdown of this cycle for you below.

  1. Chronic inflammation is created
  2. The inflammation leads to insulin resistance
  3. The insulin resistance leads to insulin surges
  4. The insulin surges leads to more inflammation

…and round and round you go.

This is an ugly cycle that I see many people struggle with. And it is not just the weight gain that is the issue. The insulin resistance will eventually lead to Type II Diabetes is not addressed properly but there’s more.

Inflammation can lead to any of the chronic conditions below.

So you can see that the inflammation/weight gain cycle can be a much bigger issue for you than simply gaining a bit of weight.

Thankfully there is a way to kick yourself out of the cycle and I am presenting a webinar on this called The Mechanics of Inflammation, where I will explain why this happens and provide some examples of what could change for you when you address this properly.
